ONE WON MY VOTE OTHER LOST

The crisis of Middle East turmoil or revolution

Who won my vote?

President of Egypt Hosni Mubarak won my vote. He left his crown without hurting the establishment, army or the land he ruled many decades, even a king cant dream to survive that long. He survived safely due to his tactful way that fulfilled people’s demand of him leaving the throne and helped General Mohamed Hussein Tantawi  (his long term partner) to take charge of government. Here is Gen. Tantawi

Who lost my vote?

President of my country Barak Obama lost my vote because he has doing Bush look acts.   In his election campaign, he was proud to vote against Iraq war but now he attacked Libya without going to congress.  Instead of peaceful, diplomatic efforts, Mr. Obama opted to throw bombs and missiles on a nation that didn’t deserve all that from colonel Gadhafi or Mr. Obama.

Other points that are going against President Obama:
■ There are still millions of citizens without health care.
■ The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are going strong.
■ New deployments of bombs, attacks on Pakistan.
■ New military bases in Colombia.
■ Wall Street is richer than ever; unemployment continues squeezing the poor.
■ Unions are being dismantled. Medicare is in the ICU and Social Security is in the nursing home.
■ Guantanamo is still open and the administration recently said it would keep prisoners without trial indefinitely.

You recently delivered a remarkable khutba on Surah Shura at ISCJ. For my readers, could you explain the meaning of the word Shura and its core principles? Imam Hamad Ahmad Chebli: Wa Alaikum Assalam, Sadid. Shura means consultation, and it forms the foundation of Islamic governance and community decision-making.
